CARLSBAD LOGGIA AND POOLHOUSE

The Owners had purchased a new home in the Chesapeake Bay Collection in Carlsbad and were unhappy with the rear façade of the house. It was monotonous and provided no relief from the southwestern sun exposure. They also wanted a small poolhouse with a bath that could double as a guest room if necessary. A gabled porch roof was extended from the back wall at the family room (left) and the Master Bedroom (right) and connected with a trellis structure over the kitchen. The windows in the family room were replaced with a Weiland pocket door; when fully open, the Family Room and patio become one space.
