DEL MAR CRAFTSMAN
The design goal for this project was to create a classic Craftsman style home applying Feng Shui principles. The home needed to be suitable for entertaining and circulation space had to be kept to a minimum. Time from drawing board to putting a shovel in the ground was also important. Anyone who has tried to build or remodel in the City of Del Mar knows that design approval is not always easy or quick to achieve. Despite some opposition expressed by a group of residents, DRB approval was received April 2006, our second appearance in front of the committee, upon our agreement to move the structure another 10’ farther back from the street. Moving the structure back meant the Master Bathroom was being pushed into the steep slope at the rear of the property. The Master Bath was redesigned in order not to disturb the slope and DRB modification approval was received in July 2006. Design on this project began in October 2005 and construction is set to begin in Spring 2007. |
